Slime moulds can appear on lawns in damp weather and in shaded areas. They can also appear on other plants in the garden. They tend to appear quickly and disappear just as quickly.
Slime moulds occasionally appear on lawns or plants as egg or crystal like growths on grass blades, stems or leaves. They can be of various colours; white, yellow, orange, grey and others. Slime moulds tend to appear in wet conditions or shaded areas of lawns. Slime moulds may cause concern but rarely do any harm to the grass or plants. Only if the area of mould becomes extensive will it damage the grass or plant by shading it from light.
