Creeping mallow is a low growing annual weed which spreads and roots where it touches the ground.

Identify the problem
Creeping mallow (sometimes known a bristly mallow) is a common weed in northern parts of New Zealand. It forms low growing mats of bright green heart shaped leaves. It produces small orange/red star shaped flowers.
How to solve the problem
- Mallows can be effectively spot sprayed with Weed Weapon Extra Strength, Weed Weapon Rapid Action or Weed Weapon Invade Gel.

- Mallows are of the genus Malvaceae. This is derived from 'Malva' the greek for soft or soothing because a emollient can be produced from the seeds. There are several species of mallow weed in the family including tree mallow, small-flowered mallow, large-flowered mallow, Turk's cap, creeping mallow and paddy lucerne.
