NO Bugs Borafume Fumigator 100g

This large fumigator is ideal for large enclosed spaces such as garages, larger roof voids and sub-floors, commercial premises and offices. The fumigator is activated by a reaction between water and a chemical inside the container.  The vapour produced by the fumigator will kill adult borer and other crawling insects, (including bed bugs and silverfish)  present at the time of its activation.  Borafume is especially good at flushing out and killing adult cockroaches.

Borafume emits a vapour, dispersing the active ingredient uniformly throughout a large space and penetrating into every nook and corner, killing and controlling insects that would otherwise be difficult to reach. The vapour does not stain walls, carpets, or furniture etc.

Directions

For use in enclosed spaces such as large roof voids and sub-floors, garages, barns, workshops, stores, warehouses, factories, offices etc, i.e. where the windows and doors can be closed. Borafume 100g can be used under the house and in the ceiling and is effective at giving a quick knockdown of pest insects in spaces up to 1000 cubic metres. Borafume leaves no residues after ventilation has been carried out.

Coverage

Work out how many Borafume cans are required as follows.

Multiply floor area e.g.             12m x 8m = 96 square M

Multiply floor area by height of space*           96 x 6 = 576 cubic M

If the total exceeds 1000m3 or there is excess ventilation, then use more than one fumigator. If the volume is less than 400m3 it might be advisable to use our smaller 20g fumigators.

*The height should be the average height, e.g. the height of a roof in a roof space with sloping roof will be approximately half the high point.

Instructions for Use

• Close all exterior doors and windows, remove pets, plants and opened food from the room.  Cover fish tanks and turn off.
• Remove plastic seal from around exterior top of container
• Remove clear ring and keep on hand
• Remove card and dispose of it
• Open the foil package and take the tin out from inside it.
• Put water in the outer plastic container up to the level of the dotted line, too much water will stop the chemical reaction
• Place this container on a hard, stable surface – brick, tin plate, block of wood etc (heat is generated underneath the container)*
• Place tin (from foil pack) inside the plastic container – red side up
• Note: Do not puncture any of the holes in the tin.  When the pressure/heat builds up the holes will open allowing the vapour out.
• Replace the clear ring on top of the plastic container (with tin inside)
• After about 2 minutes the Borafume will start to produce vapour.
• Leave the building closed up as long as possible, 3 hours to 1 day.
• The fumes can set off domestic fire alarms.

*Borafume releases a vapour, not smoke.  Heat is generated during the chemical reaction so the unit needs to be placed on a stable, heat resistant surface – brick, tin plate, block of wood.

For long term control  follow up with a Kiwicare NO Borer (for borer) or NO Bugs Super residual treatment for other insects and bugs.

Once the Borafume is activated, close the room/house and leave for at least 3 hours, or longer if possible.  Air the rooms thoroughly, at least 30 minutes, when re-entering the building.

TIPS:

Stud height of average houses

New house generally 2.6m high
Older house generally 3.3m high
If you are not certain of the height it is best to measure.

Under House – floor cavity

Floor space under the house is generally 0.5m
Do same calculation as above for the rooms using 0.5 as the height
Generally only 1 20g Borafume needed under the floor of a house, but larger spaces can be below large houses on slopes.

Ceiling Space

Use same calculation using average height of ceiling space.

Using several Borafume

When using several Borafume throughout the house get each unit ready – water in outer container and sitting on a hard surface. Then quickly go from one unit to the next putting the tin inside the outer container and replacing the ring on top. Then leave the house and shut the door.

Safety

Inhalation: Can cause irritation of upper respiratory tract.  May cause headaches, nausea and dizziness lasting up to 24 hours. Remove patient to fresh air.  If ill effects persist call a doctor and inform this product belongs to Pyrethroid insecticides.

Swallowed: If poisoning occurs, do not induce vomiting. To dilute the ingested product, give affected person one or two glasses of water or milk.  Never give an unconscious person anything by mouth.  Place in Recovery position. Obtain medical advice immediately.

Skin Contact: Irritating. May result in initial stinging, burning tingling.  Wash affected area with soap and water.  Remove and wash any contaminated clothing.

Eye Contact: May be severely irritating. Flush eyes with running water for 15 minutes holding eyelids open. If necessary seek medical advice.

Handling And Storage

Store in original container in a cool, dry ventilated place, away from direct heat or sunlight.  Store away from foodstuffs, children and animals. Do not allow product to get wet in storage.  Keep container sealed when not in use.
